Meet Russell
About me:
I am a graduate student in Mental Health Counseling at Hunter College. Prior to this, I attended Yale University and worked for over a decade as a professional screenwriter, a beautiful but precarious career that took its toll on my mental health. Fortunately, I found support from therapists, coaches, friends and guides who gradually helped me on my healing path. Now I seek to do that for others.
The cornerstone of my therapeutic approach is Hakomi Therapy. This mindful somatic practice allows the client and therapist to follow the subtle clues of the body and mind to tap back into the truth of what is happening beneath the surface.
My first priority is creating an atmosphere of safety and freedom, where every part of you is invited to show up without expectation or judgment. I believe that by welcoming everything that arrives with open arms, we can find our way back to the source of our pain.
And from there, the healing can begin.
